St. Joseph School CYO
C. Athletics and Eligibility
St. Joseph School students are eligible to participate in the parish CYO programs. The Catholic Youth Organization is the Athletic Program for the Diocese of Oakland. The CYO sponsors team sports for boys and girls. These are parish leagues and participation is open to all students of St. Joseph Parish who regularly attend St. Joseph School or the Parish Religious Education Program. The emphasis is on the development of sportsmanship and skills. Teams practice in the school gym and other local facilities and participate in league games throughout the Diocese.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students at St. Joseph School must meet the following requirements to be eligible to register or participate in CYO team sports. If students do not meet these academic standards, they may be denied permission to register, or be removed from the team during the season.
1. Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above
2. Have no Fs on their most current grading report Report Card or Progress Report
3. Have no more than 2 Ds on their most current grading report - Report Card or Progress Report
Students will remain ineligible until the next grading period shows that they have met the requirements.
If a child does not attend school they may not play or practice that afternoon or evening.
