Mrs. Erin Tucker
My name is Erin Tucker and I have been teaching in the Diocese of Oakland for 18 years. I earned my Bachelors of Liberal Studies degree from California State University, Chico. My Multiple Subject Teaching Credential was obtained through The Uinversity of Phoenix. I am blessed to be an educator and a mentor to young lives on a daily basis. The love of teaching and the passion for reading and writing have been a staple in my life for as long as I can remember. I encourage my students to live with compassion, love, understanding, and a need to serve their community through my actions and love for literature.
As a graduate of an Oakland Diocese elementary school and a Salesian High School Alumnae, I have been taught the importance of service, loving your neighbor, and the value of life long learning. I learn along with my students and welcome them into my classroom with a bright smile, loving heart, and an expectation to be their very best self always.
As the 6th grade homeroom teacher, it is my job to be sure that the 6th graders feel confident in order to be successful with all middle school routines. We will spend time evaluating our study habits, developing routines that will strengthen our executive functions, and grow together as a community that will support one another through positive encouragement and the celebration of the talents that God has given each of us.
As the middle school language arts teacher, I am committed to develop the reader and writer in all of my students. We will explore the world of many mentor texts, write on a daily basis, and evaluate information that we gain from our texts. My students are asked to self-reflect daily and are taught the importance of inquiry based learning. Learning should be fun and not stop once you leave school.
