Dear Second Grade Parents & Students:
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as your teacher. I am a friend and former teacher at St. Joseph Pinole, having taught 4th grade last year while the teacher was on maternity leave. During my 4 months in your community, I grew to love the warm and welcoming climate at St. Joseph School. Second grade happens to be a favorite of mine because I appreciate the enthusiasm and budding desire to learn that 2nd graders possess. Teaching the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist is also very dear to my heart. In the last three years I have been able to teach a variety of second graders about our faith as Catholics and, specifically, the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
A bit about me…...My name is Sherry Eastwood-Falls and I am a lifelong resident of Alameda, California. I was educated in Alameda schools and received my BA in English at San Francisco State University. After taking a break to travel in Europe, I returned to continue my education at Holy Names University obtaining my California LIfe Teaching Credential and my MA in Education. Teaching is truly my passion and, as I’ve learned, I’m happiest when I am in the classroom.
I am married and the proud parent of three adult children and seven grandchildren. For fun I enjoy visiting, chatting and going out to dinner or tea with my wide circle of friends. I sing in my Church Choir and have served in the Baptism ministry for about ten years. I love travel, especially religious pilgrimages and have been blessed to visit Mexico City and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Holy Land, and nearly all the Marian Shrines of France. When I’m not working, you might find me taking educational walks in San Francisco or other Bay Area places of interest. My husband and I enjoy mysteries and classic film.
Once again thank you for welcoming me back to a special place...St. Joseph School in Pinole.
