Mrs. Jennifer Kober
Welcome to the St. Joseph Middle School Spanish webpage. My name is Jennifer Kober, the Middle School Spanish Teacher. I’d like to introduce myself and give you an overview of the program.
I joined the St. Joseph Staff in February 2003 after relocating back to the Bay Area from several years of living abroad. I spent many years in Barcelona, Spain as a language teacher working with both children and adults.
In Barcelona, I learned Spanish and gained a deep appreciation for Hispanic culture. As a result, I like to incorporate topics such as music, geography, and cultural traditions into the curriculum. I feel very fortunate to have found a place at St. Joseph working in a subject in which I truly enjoy.
As a Spanish teacher, I feel it is essential to create interest and curiosity in the classroom. Therefore, I want students not only to enjoy the experience, but to understand what it means to have the opportunity to acquire a second language and how it may benefit them in the future. We work in the areas of reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking through a variety of activities. Homework is assigned regularly as a review of what is practiced in class and is expected to be completed in anticipation of the following class meeting.
Please feel free to email with any questions. I look forward to working with you!
